Obituary of Charles Wesley Stargel
April 17, 1901
The Dahlonega Nuggett
It becomes our painful duty to chronicle the sad death of Rev. C.W. Stargel, who was the present tax receiver of Lumpkin County, which occurred at his home a few miles from Dahlonega, on Wednesday last, at about Noon. The deceased had been lingering with the grip and other troubles for some time, but soon took a change and thought he might get well, but instead he was called to reap his reward in that beautiful world on high. He was born and reared in this County, and was a good Christain, a great advocate of temperence, or anything else having a tendency to build up society. Thus it can truly be said that another good, kind hearted citizen is gone
I want to thank Cousin Brandon Stargel for the pictures of the Wilford A. Stargel family Headstones
